Meet Sydney the corn snake! Corn snakes are known for their docile, calm demeanor. They generally grow to between 3-6 feet in length as adults and can live up to 20 years! They are one of the most popular types of pets snakes, due to their size and ease of handling. Snakes can be a great pet for the right person. They have specific needs for housing, temperatures, and feeding, so will do best in a home that understands these needs. Sydney was abandoned and would love to settle into a new reptile loving home! This beautiful, bright orange little slitherer can be adopted for $10.

Please meet Burl and Gramble, 1.5 year old, male guinea pigs looking for a good home!  These cute little guys have lived with kids, and are friendly, like exploring their surroundings, nibbling on carrots, snoozing, and sitting in your lap. Burl is the calico (mostly black and orange with some white, Gramble the white and tan. Guinea pigs can be endearing, wonderful pets.  They live 5-7 years on average, love to play, and will frequently greet you with chirps or purrs once they get to know you.  Delightful family pets!  Burl and Gramble can be adopted for $10 each!

IS YOUR DOG CURRENT?  MOA Dog licenses are the best way we have to keep owner information up-to-date and get lost pets home.  Plus, they are required by law for all dogs 4 months and older in the Municipality!  You can purchase them at many local vet clinics, here at AACCC, or through our website, http://www.muni.org/animal.  (You’ll need your dog’s current rabies vaccination certificate for purchase.)

Please meet Boots, a 2 year old, neutered male, domestic longhair cat.  Boots loves attention. He is outgoing and affectionate, not to mention strikingly handsome! Boots is curious and good-natured. This is one cool kitty – he makes himself comfortable in his surroundings and enjoys sprawling and sleeping on his back. This fifteen pound cutie loves to be brushed and otherwise adored. If you’re looking for a self-assured, confident kitty that is interactive and engaging, come in and meet Boots!  Boots can be adopted for $62, as he is already neutered, which includes his vaccinations and microchip.

Please meet Chatta, a 6 year old, spayed female, pit bull mix.  Friendly, happy and outgoing, this girl is a big love sponge! She’s lived with another dog and kids, doing well with all. Attentive, walks great on her leash, sits nicely for treats and takes them gently. Really wants to please. She likes riding in the car, too. Affectionate–very loveable and will give kisses!  Chatta can be adopted for $72, as she is already spayed, which includes her MOA license, vaccinations, and microchip

Just in time for Spring, you can bring home your own Lark!  The bird variety of lark is known for its song, and this gorgeous kitty Lark has a purr that sounds like a trill which she uses often.  She is very distinctive looking, almost a brown tabby with stripes and spots overlaid on patches of orange, with VERY soft fur. Lark is very affectionate and loves to be brushed, petted and will head bump and rub on her people to let them know she loves the attention. Her feet are often moving – she likes to knead even while standing. If you are looking for an affectionate, loving cat with a happy-go-lucky personality, Lark may be the perfect match for you!  Lark can be adopted for $62, as Friends of Pets is donating the cost of her spay surgery!  Her adoption fees include her vaccinations and microchip!

Here is YoYo, an adult, neutered male, domestic shorthair cat.  Extra large in size and extra sweet, YoYo very loveable and loving–he will just melt into your lap when held. Shy and quiet, he enjoys petting and brushing.  This gentle fellow loves laps and will purr with contentment when he is with you. Please meet Snickers, a 9 year old, neutered male, domestic longhair mix cat.  Exceptionally sweet-natured and chilled according to his former family, Snickers is a real love sponge. He has lived happily with children, as well as dogs whom he would play with and other cats with whom he would engage in grooming sessions. He is very easy to handle and was very tolerant when some mats were shaved at the shelter. Wonderful disposition and awesome family pet! UPDATE 4/12:  Sassy went for her spay surgery today at the Alaska SPCA!  When she goes back up for adoption in a few days, she will only be $72 to adopt!

Here is Sassy, a 1 year old, female, pit bull mix.  Sassy has a super happy personality that shows the minute you come up to her kennel.  Her smiley face will beam up at you while her whole body wags along with her tail.  Friendly, attentive, and very affectionate, this beautiful girl has lived with kids and did well. She has been to the dog park, rides fine in the car, and is kennel-trained. She sits nicely for her treats and takes them gently. She has some retained juvenile teeth that will need to be extracted by a vet. Curious, happy and very people oriented – an overall sweet girl!  Sassy can be adopted for $152, which includes her spay deposit, MOA license, vaccinations, and microchip.

Here is Jacob, an adult, neutered male, shepherd mix.  Easy-going, laid-back and very sweet, this lovable fellow handles great on his leash.  He is on the older side, though he came to us as a stray, so we don’t know his actual age.  That being said, he is still plenty spry, really enjoys his outings and being with people.  He did well in Shelter Dog Play Group with all the other dogs, playing quite like a puppy with a Border Collie mix named Lexi in particular.  Calm and mature, he’s an experienced people lover, full of affection and a giver of kisses. Good-natured and even-tempered–a solid companion, and super sweet guy! Special thanks to the Alaska SPCA for providing Jacob’s neuter surgery free of charge and reducing his adoption fee by $80!  Jacob can now be adopted for $72, which includes his MOA license, vaccinations, and microchip.
