Pet of the Week – Powder (A139228)

Powder (A139228)

Please meet Powder, a 6 year old, domestic shorthair mix cat.  Powder is a talkative, affectionate, gentle girl. She is friendly to family and strangers alike and loves to be around people, but avoided the dog and other cats in her previous home. She enjoys being brushed, cuddling, and petting.  Powder is a beautiful, interactive kitty who would love to be the only object of someone’s affection!  Powder can be adopted for $62, as she is already spayed, which includes her vaccinations and microchip.

Cute Volunteer Videos

Short, but cute, clip of Blue, a 7 month old, Bluetick Hound mix, currently up for adoption. This silly guy is tons of fun, but can be very vocal (I know you are all so surprised that a Hound mix is vocal!).   🙂

Bell is an 8 year old, spayed female, domestic shorthair mix currently available for adoption. This sweet girl has been here since the beginning of February, though we don’t know why she hasn’t been snatched up yet. She loves people, petting, and cuddling and would love to find her new home soon!

Pet of the Week – Billy (A183255)

Here is the Lite 105.7 Pet of the Week:

Billy (A183255)

Please meet Billy, a 3 year old, neutered male, pit bull mix.  Friendly, good-natured, happy and attentive, Billy is active and playful, very curious and outgoing. He knows commands (including shake), is kennel-trained, rides well in the car, and likes his chew toys. He is a eager learner and has earned A+s in Shelter Dog Training Class.  He’s been around kids of all ages and does great (he will chase small animals, however, so not a good mix for cats). Tolerant and affectionate, he enjoys being with people, and has a lot of love to share. Fine family pooch! Special thanks to the Alaska SPCA for providing Billy’s neuter surgery free of charge and reducing his adoption fee by $80!  Billy can now be adopted for $72, which includes his MOA license, vaccinations, and microchip.

Michitiva (A086128)

Here is Michitiva, an 8 year old, neutered male, domestic shorthair cat.  November is Adopt-A-Senior Pet Month and Michitiva would you to know how wonderful older pets can be!  This sweet fellow appreciates attention and petting, but certainly isn’t demanding about it. Very gentle and easy-going, he spends a lot of time on his bed observing the world around him. That is, he is in his bed until a lap becomes available and then the lap is a must have!  He can be talkative, mostly to get some pets headed his way, and can’t get enough snuggling.  Very mild-mannered and has lots of people-loving experience. Did we mention cute, too? A great low-maintenance home companion and one awesome family pet!  Michitiva can be adopted for $62, as he is already neutered, which includes his vaccinations and microchip.

Molly and Rylee have a blast in Play Group!

Molly and Rylee, our lab sisters, were featured as Pet of the Week yesterday. Here’s a cute little clip of them having a blast in Shelter Dog Playgoup! The white puppy playing with Rylee is Candy, who was adopted Tuesday!

Here is Allie, a 2 year old, spayed female, domestic longhair mix cat.  This lovely girl is exceptionally calm and easy-going. Allie is content to hang out on her perch, watching the world go by, until she thinks you might give her some attention. When she has visitors, she will roll over for a belly rub, pawing the air in anticipation. She kneads and purrs in contentment when you pet her. Allie has gorgeous soft, silky fur that is a delight to pet. Allie has lived with children and other cats and did great with both. This very loving and sweet girl is also declawed.  Allie can be adopted for $62, as she is already spayed, which includes her vaccinations and microchip.

Janigo (A139480)

Please meet Janigo, a year and a half old, neutered male, domestic mediumhair cat.  Janigo is friendly, gentle, quiet, and super sweet. He is very affectionate, loves to be pet, and has been dubbed “Sir Nudge-A-Lot” by one volunteer, as he will often head butt you for attention.  He is alert and curious, but also patient and has done well with children in the past. This lovebug has quickly become a favorite here and will steal your heart in a moment too, just give him a chance to meet you!  Janigo can be adopted for $62, as he is already neutered, which includes his vaccinations and microchip.
