Anchorage Animal Care and Control (AACC) is the Municipal animal shelter, housing a variety of animals up for adoption, from dogs and cats to hamsters, reptiles, birds and other pets.  These animals are either surrendered to AACC by owners who can no longer care for them or are brought in as strays.  AACC also provides domestic animal control services to the entire Municipality.  Animal Control Officers (ACOs) respond to an average of 800 citizen requests for service per month regarding animal cruelty, animal bites, loose animals, barking dogs, injured animals, and other requests for service.   For more information, please see our website:  www.muni.org/animal.
