Alaska Dispatch News Dog Blog Pet of the Week: Bessie (A211211)

Don’t be fooled by first impressions. I’m only shy for a bit. Signed, Bessie

This is Bessie, an Australian Cattle Dog mix who came to us as a stray—being on her own had to be scary for this shy girl. Bessie warms up quickly to a soft voice and gentle touch. We are unsure of her age but she is an active and curious dog who enjoys her walks and handles well on leash. Like most dogs of her breed, Bessie is attentive, intelligent and wants to please so teaching her tricks could be fun for both of you. She will do best in a home that will provide positive reinforcement and activities to keep her mind occupied. Check out Karen Pryor’s website for some great trick training ideas: http://www.clickertraining.com/library?source=kpctnavbar

Bessie can be adopted for $72 which includes a microchip, vaccines, and MOA license.
