Pet of the Week – Henrietta (A200081)

UPDATE 10/2:  Henrietta has been adopted!

Here is the KBEAR 104.1 Pet of the Week:

Henrietta (A200081)

Henrietta (A200081)

Today we want to highlight some of the “other” pets available at AACCC, by showcasing our chicken currently available for adoption, Henrietta!  Chickens are becoming more popular as pets, including here in Anchorage.  They can provide pest control for your garden and can be easily tamed and trained, even as adults, with positive reinforcements and food rewards.  They are not a pet for everyone, as they need some outdoors time everyday, which means the owner will need to provide an adequate coop that is warm enough to keep them comfortable in the winter and proper confinement to protect against predators.  If your pet chicken ever gets loose, please remember to come to AACCC to look for your pet, as we get many stray chickens in throughout the year.  Pet chickens have an average lifespan of 15 years and can be a fun and interesting pet for the right person! Chickens can be adopted for $10 each.
