Happy Tail – Riley (formerly Bree)!

If you adopted a furry, scaled, or feathered friend from AACCC, we’d love to hear your Happy Tail!  Send a short update on how you and your pet are doing with a photo (or a couple photos) to taylorbd@muni.org!

Riley

A few days after adopting Riley (formerly Bree) I nearly gave up on her due to her aggressive behavior towards my other rescue. The day that I was to “return” her I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. I had heard so many good things about her and knew she could be a good dog. The helpful staff at Anchorage Animal Control gave me some tips and put me in contact with someone that could assist further. After giving it a few extra days her behavior turned around completely. She just had some habits that I had to figure out how to break her of. Her willingness to learn certainly made it easier on me. We still have a little ways to go but I am confident she will learn quickly.

Riley is an energetic and loving pit-bull and is a perfect fit in our household.

My other dog has accepted her and seems to even look in the other direction when she steals his tennis balls.

She is obsessed with tennis balls so once she gets one there is no getting it back. Riley taught me a good lesson on patience and to not give up. She deserved a loving family and now she has one.
